Michael Au

Associate Principal

Michael Au is an Associate Principal with Rottet Studio with over 25 years of experience practicing interior design and architecture and directs firm-wide policies on the design, management and technical standards of the company.

Mr. Au has worked with Rottet Studio principals Lauren Rottet and Richard Riveire for over two decades in Los Angeles/San Francisco/Shanghai, including a 13-year period under DMJM Rottet. Mr. Au started and managed the San Francisco office for DMJM Rottet & Rottet Studio from 2005-2010 while building the firm’s extensive portfolio in Asia.

Mr. Au serves in a firm-wide management role developing systems, procedures and technical standards in maintaining the firm’s commitment to deliver projects of the highest quality and design excellence. Michael directs firm-wide policies on the design, management and technical standards of the company and his leadership experience as a Project Manager and Project Architect is an invaluable resource to the project teams.

Michael’s comprehensive management approach combined with this design and technical expertise has brought success to many of the firm’s most reputable and continuing clients. He is responsible for a number of award winning projects, including Paul Hastings’ Los Angeles headquarters and Artis Capital Management’s office in San Francisco.
