Pursuitist Names Loews Regency Among Top 10 Luxury Hotel Openings of 2014

12.19.14pursuitist         Pursuitist India named Loews Regency among Ten Best Luxury Hotel Openings in 2014, noting in particular the "addition of six designer-inspired Signature Suites", including the Rottet-designed Glamour and Pop Art Suites."Loews Regency tapped international architecture and design firm Rottet Studio for The Grand Suites, inspired the cultural icon, Marilyn Monroe.  Suite 1620, The Glamour Suite, is an interpretation of what might have been Marilyn’s Park Avenue pied a terre, evoking how she would have lived in the heyday of her celebrity glamour in New York City. Next door is the Pop Art Suite, which pays homage to pop artist Andy Warhol.  Black and white architectural finishes, inspired by comic books and ad-based Pop Art graphics, provide a bold background."Read the full article here.

Rottet Studio Named Among 2014 Hospitality Giants

622x350        Interior Design has released the 2014 Hospitality Giants ranking, and Rottet Studio came in at #24 out of 75 listed firms."It’s now safe to say, cliché or no, that the 75 firms that make up the Interior Design Giants in the hospitality sector have finally returned, after the Great Recession, to 'business as usual.' Firms have found both stability and growth—by all accounts consistent and sustainable. Rottet Los Angeles Takes Runner Up at Haunt Couture 2014

Haunt Couture is an annual event in which the designed garments are larger than life costumes created from design materials typically specified in contract interiors expressing the “theme” of the event. This year's theme was "MIRROR MIRROR: Who's the Fairest of Them All?"Thanks to Kayla, Michele, Arlene,Brooke, Theresa, Patricia, Harout - our stage stars - and Sona ( who couldn't make the gig, but worked on the dress) and Eric who did the great music.See more photos from the event on our Facebook!

Lauren Rottet in Hospitality Design Magazine

PC_SpreadSee Lauren Rottet's spread as a 2014 Platinum Circle Nominee in the latest issue of Hospitality Design magazine!"It was the toads of Waco that first experienced the architectural expertise of Lauren Rottet. 'When I was growing up we had a rock driveway,' the Texas native explains, 'and I made little houses for the toads. I tried to make them sturdy enough so they couldn't escape. Gaslamp District's Pendry Hotel Breaks Ground

pendry_groundbreakingThe Pendry Hotel, located in the Gaslamp District of San Diego, celebrated its groundbreaking ceremony yesterday. The space was decorated a la Mr. Pendry with surfboards, taxidermy, guys in bearskin hats and Bermuda shorts, umbrellas and derbys, and the motto “Know Thyself” whilst speeches were made about the upcoming 317-key hotel. Seyfarth Shaw Featured in Architectural Record

SeyfarthShaw_09Seyfarth Shaw was mentioned in an article about open plan offices in the latest issue of Architectural Record!"Among those who need to be sounded out are lawyers and financial executives—legendary for wanting to hold onto their enclosed spaces. However, some are thinking differently about the actual sizes and configurations of the layout: Lauren Rottet, of Rottet Studio, says that one of her clients, the Houston law firm of Seyfarth Shaw, wanted a light-filled work environment, without the hierarchy of the perimeter rooms. So Rottet pulled the offices away from the glass wall, creating 'verandas' with views of the city, and added a variety of team conference areas. By tinkering with the layout, 'We were able to allow a 25 percent increase in [the number of] employees for the original floor plan while keeping the offices the same size,' she says."Read the full article here.
